Pet Expo 2008 17th – 19th October

The Pet Expo is on this year in the RDS Ballsbridge and we are ready to go.

Our Obedience Demo’s and Fun Agility Demo’s are going to be such fun plus we will be on the judging panel for the “Scruffs Got Talent” competition presented by Shauna Lowry who is an avid dog lover and promotor of responsible dog ownership and adoption of rescue dogs.

So come see us on Stands E4 & E5, on stage and the Agility Arena.

October 2008 – Dog Walk 1 Phoenix Park

Today the dog walking group had their 1st dog walk in the Phoenix Park. What beautiful weather we had. The group walks the 1st Sunday of the month, each month. The places vary monthly.

There is only ONE rule of Dog Walk … when on a walk Lisa and Tara are “off duty” so no dog training or behaviour questions please!

Dog Walking Group – Information

Hello, I started this group so as to gather a group of people together for nice walks once a month. We meet on the 1st Sunday of every month to walk our dogs in nice places. Every month the group can make suggestions for places to walk. Who knows we could end up anywhere but for now we will start with Ireland!

That this is NOT a Dog Training Ireland activity. There will be no training or advice given on dog walks. Lisa and I are strictly “off duty” So HAVE FUN and ENJOY THE COMPANY!

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for Internship Positions – Winter ’08 Start

We are now accepting applications for our Internship. This offers an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in and/or studying in the area of Canine Training and Behaviour or Animal Care.

You should ideally be studying in the area of Canine Training and Behaviour or Animal Care. We can offer the practical experience you will need to complete your education. Canine Training and Behaviour is a science, those who understand this will welcome the experience we can offer.

Previous Experience is not required but is of advantage.

Studying a college / educational facility backed course is of great advantage. These include distance learning or correspondence courses, short courses, canine first aid courses, animal care and husbandry courses, veterinary nursing.

Holding or having applied for APDT (UK), CCPDT, CAP or other recognised certification / exams is of distinct advanage.

Getting Ready

So what are the DTI crowd up to lately?

Well we are studying for further exams and certification.

We are getting ready for the Ian Dunbar Seminar.

We are preparing for the Pet Expo in October 2008.

We are becomming certified in Canine First Aid for the new daycare when it arrives in September 2008.

So we are kept very very busy indeed!

Sunday 16th June, the sun is shining and the grass is green!

Dog Training Ireland Fun Agility Demonstration

Once we managed to get the trailer unloaded and the agility equipment set up we were off. What a beautiful day it was. The public seemed to really enjoy the display and get very involved indeed.

Our objective of demonstrating that reward and motivational training rocks was met 100%. To see the dogs rushing around having a ball and really wanting to work with their owners was pure joy. We are very proud of all of you.

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!
